Sher takes national DH title; Waddell, Hannah 1-2 in Mt. Snow DH

WEST DOVER, Vt. - Team Chumba Wumba's Lisa Sher finished sixth at Mt. Snow, but captured the US national downhill title by virtue of being the highest placing American in the season standings; third overall.

On the men's side, Australian John Waddell of the Sun Race/Santa Cruz Team bested a strong international field to win the day with a 2.5 second gap countryman Mick Hanna of Team Haro. Despite an inhury plagued year, Hannah managed to hang on to second place in the season standings, 42 points behind winner John Kirkcalde of New Zeland. Sher, Waddel and Hannah each compete in Bell Bellistic helmets.
